JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - George Williams IV was convicted Wednesday in the 2012 murder of 23-year-old Harold Lee Woodward III.

A Duval County jury found Williams, 20, guilty of first-degree murder and armed burglary.

Williams broke into Woodward's Savannah Oaks apartment on Christmas Eve 2012 apartment and stole several items, including money and a gun. Prosecutors say Williams then beat and shot Woodward several times before fleeing.

Woodward was treated by medical personnel, but later died as a result of his injuries.

Williams' fingerprints were found in Woodward's blood at the crime scene and a warrant was issued.

Williams faces life in prison. He will be sentenced the week of May 5.
