2nd Castillo de San Marcos vandal sentenced

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A 21-year-old woman was sentenced last week on criminal mischief charges for spray painting the Castillo de San Marcos.

Fang Chin Tsai entered into a deferred prosecution agreement. The term of the agreement is for one year, with possibility of early termination after six months.

Tsai must pay restitution in the amount of $150 to Carolina Dreamin, LLC; $250 to the city of St. Augustine's General Fund; $100 to the state attorney's office for cost of prosecution; and $50 to the St. Augustine Police Department for cost of investigation.

Tsai must also perform 100 hours of community service and write a meaningful letter of apology to the residents of the city of St. Augustine within 30 days. Also as part of the agreement, Tsai is responsible for the $45 a month cost of probation supervision.

Co-defendant Scott Hill, 26, was sentenced last month. Hill was adjudicated guilty and placed on probation for a year and ordered to pay restitution.
