2nd man pleads guilty in woman's death

20-year-old shot, killed during struggle in car in June

Kennard Mahone, Jonathan Brooks and Alfred Mears are arraigned in court.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The second of three men charged as accessories in the shooting death of 20-year-old Kalil McCoy has pleaded guilty.

Kennard Mahone is the latest to plead guilty. Jonathan Brooks did so in September.

Both are expected to testify against Frederick Wade, who's charged with manslaughter in McCoy's death. Police said Wade admitted to handling a gun when it off during a struggle in a car in June, killing McCoy.

Wade's trial is scheduled for February.

Alfred Mears, the third man charged as an accessory, is still going through the pretrial process.

Mears, Mahone and Jonathan Brooks were all charged with helping dispose of McCoy's body in a wooded area of a Talleyrand neighborhood.

McCoy and the four suspects were classmates at Andrew Jackson High School, where McCoy graduated from weeks before her death.
