3 St. Augustine men arrested in meth lab bust at Motel 8

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Three St. Augustine men were arrested late Thursday night on methamphetamine charges following a tip that a wanted man was on the property of a Motel 8, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies approached a second-story room at the motel at 2550 State Road 16, where they had just witnessed the suspect attempting to leave. The deputies said they knocked on the hotel room door, and one of the men answered.

Deputies said they entered the room to secure the wanted man, 26-year-old David Green, and they saw evidence of a meth lab.

Investigators later confirmed the lab was active.

Green and two other suspects, Geoffrey Carter, 33, and John McLeod, 26, were each charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, production of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were booked into the St. Johns County jail.

Following a first appearance hearing Friday morning, Carter and McLeod were being held on bonds totaling $71,000 each. Green was being held without bond as it relates to his warrant.
