4 arrested in meth lab bust

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – Three men and a woman were arrested Sunday night in a meth lab bust, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they were conducting a neighborhood patrol just before 9 p.m. when they saw a suspicious vehicle parked at 317 N.E. Double Run Road. While investigating the vehicle, the deputies said they could smell a chemical odor in the area that was consistent with the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine.

While deputies made contact with several people in the yard of the home, two suspects were seen running inside of a camper trailer located on the property. Deputies said they made contact with the two in the trailer and found materials consistent with the clandestine manufacture of methamphetamine. They said they also found additional paraphernalia in a burn pit on the property.

While searching the property for additional evidence, a man was found hiding under a trailer on the property. The man, identified as Christopher Abbott, was determined to have a fugitive arrest warrant from Pennsylvania, deputies said. He was arrested.

Dustin Doles, 28, Wendy Parker, 44, and James Roberts, 36, all of Lake City were also arrested on drug charges.

The hazardous materials were collected from the scene.
