Many of the new citizens have lived in the U.S. for years, but now they can proudly say they are U.S. Citizens.

Camilla Plunkett is from Sweden and has been living here with her American husband and children for about two decades. She says she's glad she's officially an American.

"It's the best country in the world, so I'm just so happy to be a part of this, especially to be here in the Castillo (de San Marcos) fort. It's very emotional," Plunkett said.

Gaston Buscgiazzo also became a citizen. He's from Argentina.

"I love this country and I feel great living here," he said. "And I feel it was the right thing to do. I want to raise my children here. I want to have my family here. So I'm very happy today to be a citizen."

Many of the new citizens say what they're looking forward to most in the future is casting their vote.
