Investigators responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at 10:15 a.m. last Tuesday at the intersection of Racetrack Road and Bartram Oaks Walk in Julington Creek.

A 1998 Nissan Frontier driven by Stafford was heading south on Bartram Oaks Walk across Racetrack Road when deputies said it struck a 2013 Hyundai Elantra.

Deputies said the Hyundai, driven by 28-year-old Victoria A. Hartwell of Middleburg, was traveling eastbound on Racetrack Road.

At the time, deputies said both drivers were transported to Julington Creek Memorial Hospital by County Rescue Personnel.

Stafford, who deputies said was not wearing a seat belt, was then flown to UF Health Jacksonville.

Racetrack Road was closed for several hours as deputies conducted the investigation.
