Active search for SWAT standoff suspect

SWAT raid of Riverside home finds suspect had fled home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are searching for an aggravated assault suspect who escaped from officers and a SWAT team attempting to serve a warrant early Friday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police went to a home Thursday night in the 2600 block of Gilmore Street, which is just north of Stockton and Post streets, to serve two arrest warrants -- one was for aggravated battery and one was for driving with a license suspended or revoked.

JSO said the residents were uncooperative and it's policy is to call in the SWAT team to serve the warrants. Central Riverside Elementary School was originally going to be closed due to the close proximity to the SWAT scene, but instead stayed open.

Shawn Robinson, 23 (pictured, right), who was wanted on an out-of-county warrant for driving with a license suspended or revoked, surrendered to police, according to JSO spokesman Shannon Hartley.

Police thought the other suspect wanted for aggravated domestic battery -- identified as 27-year-old Deshawn Brown -- was inside the home, but learned around 6:45 a.m. that he was not. The SWAT team cleared the scene and roads in the area were reopened.

Hartley said that it's a possibility Brown (pictured, lef), who was thought to be inside the home, could have escaped while SWAT was setting up, but the details are still unclear at this time.
