JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A city audit shows the sheriff is making a good landing when it comes to use of helicopters and planes.
Auditors looked how the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office aviation uses its four helicopters and planes.
The auditors did not find any problems in how the aircraft is used, but they did question overtime and travel cost estimates.
The audit also suggests the sheriff try to sell one of the planes that is not used. The city did not pay for that plane. It was acquired in a drug deal.
The sheriff has tried to sell it before without success.
