MIDDLEBURG, Fla. - Hundreds attended a special benefit concert and silent auction in Middleburg on Sunday to support the family of 18-year-old Austin Norman, the Clay County teen who died in a car crash one week ago.
A funeral was held Saturday.
Norman was riding in the passenger side of a truck with his brother Brandon Norman when they lost control and hit a tree near their home. Brandon Norman is recovering in the hospital.
At Sunday's benefit many wore wrist bands in memory of Austin Norman. There was live music, fun for the kids and a silent auction with plenty of great things up for grabs.
Charles Hodges with D 'n D Productions said he's known the family for years and felt compelled to help.
"(They're a) great family. You're talking about a dad who works three jobs to take care of his kids. I mean, I'm a father myself and I don't compare to how good of a father this man is," Hodges said.
Every dollar earned will go toward supporting the Norman family.
