"We came last night to the door buster sale at Wal-Mart, about 10 p.m.," said shopper John Youmans. "After that, we went in, went to bed and got up this morning. Came back about 7:30 a.m. and we [have] been here ever since."

Channel 4 scoped out all the hot shopping spots on Friday. Shoppers gathered at St. Johns Town Center, Orange Park Mall, Regency Square Mall and the Avenues Mall.

By early afternoon, shoppers said they were near the end of their sprint for sales.

"I've been really successful actually. There's a lot of good sales and I've been up probably since 9 o'clock last night. [I] like that it opens at different times because then it's not as crowded around here," one shopper said.

Nearing the end of the day, some shoppers got a second wind, thrilled to be part of the post-Thanksgiving shopping day.

"I love the deals on Black Friday. We actually got front row parking, too, so it's been nice," said shopper Ally Schmitt.
