Police had issued an alert for Tomkiewicz after performing a well-being check around 6 p.m. Thursday for a woman identified as Ann Marie Antonaccio, 55, at a home on Vermont Avenue.

Police said a faint odor was emitting from the home and when officers entered the house, Antonaccio was found dead in a bed with a sheet covering her body.

Her death was ruled a homicide after police said her throat had been slashed.

Police said Tomkiewicz was seen leaving the house Thursday driving her car. Tomkiewicz told neighbors Antonaccio had left town because it was unusual for him to be driving her car.

Key West police continue to look for Antonaccio's car, described as a white four-door 1999 Toyota bearing the Florida license plate J74-OHM.

His death is still under investigation.
