JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two brothers were arrested and accused in the killing of a 28-year-old man last month.
Jamie and Shane Meekins are accused of murder in the death of Rodney Stone on May 18.
Stone was found shot to death after his car crashed at 2000 Olevia Street in St. Nicholas.
According to a police report, the brothers were pulled over by Jacksonville police on the Westside. Police first responded to what they thought was a hit-and-run crash.
Officers said they found cocaine and a gun in the brothers' pickup truck, and they said Jamie Meekins had blood on him. He told police he'd been in a fight at the beach, according to the report.
Witnesses said they saw Jamie get out of Stone's car and climb into the truck driven by Shane Meekins.
Investigators said the Florida Department of Law Enforcement ran a ballistics test on the revolver found in the truck and it matched the two slugs recovered from Stone's body.
