CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A car drove into a Clay County home on Wednesday afternoon, but no one was seriously hurt.

The crash happened at the home in the 1500 block of Ibis Drive, off Blanding and Kingfisher boulevards, about 3:30 p.m.

Amanda Jammes, 29, who was driving the car, was not hurt but was taken to a hospital for precautionary reasons. Two children in the car, ages 3 and 6, were not hurt.

Deputies said Jammes suffered a medical emergency, causing her to accelerate and lose control of the car. Deputies said she crashed through a fence before going through a yard and striking the home.

Gary Davis, the homeowner who was in the home when the crash happened, was also OK.

Elaine Davis said her husband, Gary, called her at work to tell her what happened.

"He had stepped out of the master bedroom and watched a car go right through the living room," she said. "We just are glad to hear the lady is OK. We'll just have to make some minor adjustments or major adjustments for the next couple of months."

Davis said Jammes' car missed their car in the driveway.

"Ultimately, the car went straight through the living room into the garage," she said.

Davis said her husband was shaken up.

"It's not every day you step out of your master bedroom and see a car go through your living room," she said.

Davis said her family's Boston Terrier named Dolly ran off after the car crashed into his house. Her neighbors were helping them look for Dolly.

"We don't have any grandchildren, so that's our baby," Davis said.
