JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The son of Chief Judge Donald Moran has reached a plea deal with a special prosecutor.
Donald Richard Moran III pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of reckless driving. He had been charged with DUI.

A single-vehicle crash on Butler Boulevard in December 2008 left the 29-year-old paralyzed from the waist down. Police say his blood alcohol level was at least twice the legal limit.
Moran was sentenced to DUI school and community service, and fined $500.
His attorney said he does not believe Moran received special treatment with the plea.
Moran's father is the chief judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit, which includes Duval, Nassau and Clay counties.
