CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – Clay County commissioners are still looking at ways to regulate adult businesses without violating the constitution.
Last fall, a businessman asked the county about opening an adult bookstore. At the time, a county attorney told commissioners that a 1985 ordinance prohibiting adult businesses could be declared unconstitutional if it was challenged in court.

On April 8, the county commission will hear from a First Amendment lawyer who has worked with other local governments on the issue.
