JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Some Jacksonville City Council members have questions why the mayor fired a department head.
Vince Siebold was chief of the city's environmental quality division.
He was fired when he told council members he disagreed with the mayor's plan to combine that department with public works.
Monday morning, members of the rules committee met, questioning the firing.
Some have criticized the reorganization plan, saying it's like the "fox guarding the hen house."
Rules committee chairman Clay Yarborough says they will meet again next month to take up the issue to see if there are any conflicts with the mayor's office.
