Deputies: Man attacked customer after asking for money

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County sheriff's deputies say a 7-Eleven customer shot a man outside the store early Sunday morning.

Deputies said the customer, a man in his 40s, was leaving the 7-Eleven on Lee Road at around 5 a.m. The customer says a man in his 20s approached him, asking him for money.

The customer refused and got into his car. Deputies say the man attacked the customer in his car. The customer pulled out a handgun and shot the man in the chest, according to deputies.

The shooter went back into the 7-Eleven and asked the clerk to call the police. The customer remained at the scene until deputies arrived and is cooperating with the investigation.

The man who was shot died at the hospital, according to deputies.
