ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office along with the U.S. Marshals Service are looking for a man wanted in connection with an incident early Tuesday morning.
The initial incident began during a traffic stop behind the St. Augustine Police Department.

Andrew Stanton, 26, of St. Augustine, who was positively identified by deputies on scene, approached the initial traffic stop and refused all commands to not proceed into the scene, deputies said.
They said Stanton drove at a rapid rate, attempting to hit law enforcement officers who were present, striking at least one in his attempt.
Through the extensive investigation, detectives determined that Stanton intended to strike at least three officers.
Stanton has had previous violent interaction with law enforcement. Deputies shot him in the face in 2008 while U.S. Marshals were trying to arrest him on felony drug charges.
Anyone with information on Stanton's whereabouts is cautioned to not make contact with him and to immediately notify law enforcement.
Stanton is wanted on three counts of attempted murder, one count of fleeing and attempting to elude, and one count of resisting an officer with violence.
Channel 4 checked with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Thursday night to see how the officer, Stanton hit was recovering from his injuries. The Sheriff's Office told Channel 4 that the officer hit only suffered minor injuries and is now back on full duty.
