SATSUMA, Fla. – A Putnam County man was arrested Thursday morning after deputies said he threatened them.
Investigators said a deputy responded to the area of South Highway 17 and Kingston Boulevard about 6 a.m. regarding a report of someone who was possibly in need of help.

Once on scene, the deputy made contact with David Campbell, and when he approached Campbell to find out if he needed help, Campbell ignored him and began to walk away, deputies said.
The deputy was concerned for Campbell's well-being because he was lightly clothed and it was bitter cold outside, investigators said. They said as the deputy approached, Campbell said he was armed and would shoot the deputy if he proceeded toward him.
A sergeant and another deputy arrived to assist in apprehending Campbell, and when they approached, Campbell displayed a large kitchen knife and raised it at the sergeant in a threatening manner, deputies said.
The sergeant stunned Campbell with a Taser and arrested him.
"Our law enforcement officers are often faced with life-threatening situations," Sheriff Jeff Hardy said in a news release. "We are fortunate that this incident ended peacefully for everyone involved."
Campbell was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly weapon. He was transported to the Putnam County jail with bail set at $5,004.
