ORLANDO, Fla. - A dog is being credited with helping save a family after the animal alerted its owner to a car on fire just outside their recreational vehicle in an Orlando RV park.
The Volkswagen Beetle burst into flames for an unknown reason around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Lake Breeze RV Park off Lee Road near Edgewater Drive and Orange Blossom Trail.
A dog named Jo-Jo awakened its owner, who was in a nearby camper.
The fire, which didn't spread to the RV, was extinguished, and the cause of the blaze is under investigation. Fire officials said the car had last been driven about four hours earlier.
No one was injured.
