JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – What was once the 18 story Barnett Bank building in downtown Jacksonville will soon become the world headquarters for One Spark Inc.

Elton Rivas, the co-founder of One Spark, said the new building will eventually house the multiple venues that will be on display during the event.

"One Spark provides a great one time opportunity to showcase the creative and entrepreneurial ecosystem that this venue is going to be over next 16 to 18 months," said Rivas.

Stache investments, a company owned by Jacksonville Jaguars owners Shad Khan, is helping back the rehabilitation of the building.

"Stache has been a great partner for our businesses, and has been a great partner with One Spark," said Rivas. "Last year -- a million dollars in capital investments, and then renewing that commitment with One Spark this year."

Steve Atkins, one of the developers running this project, said beginning Wednesday and during the entire One Spark event, the public will get the chance to see this building on the inside and get a glimpse of what it will eventually turn into.

Atkins said then, the day after One Spark ends, construction begins.

We're starting shortly after One Spark and will begin in earnest," said Atkins. "It will take 16 to 18 months and be done by summer of 2015."

The building will also house around 80 downtown apartments once construction is complete, along with all the small business startup models inside.
