Fight leads to shooting in Lowe's parking lot

Jacksonville police say shooting had no connection to business

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A person was shot in the hand in a Lowe's parking lot late Thursday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police responded to the parking lot on Philips Highway at Baymeadows Road around 11 p.m. and discovered two parties had an altercation.

"During the altercation, both parties pulled out firearms and exchanged gunfire. One person was hit in the hand. It's a non life-threatening injury. We have detained several subjects and we're conducting an investigation in reference to it," said Sgt. LaDue with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

A white sedan appeared to be involved.  JSO placed evidence markers around it while they investigated.

The individuals were not connected to any businesses in the area, according to JSO.
