Fire, smoke advisory issued in Flagler County

Brush fire to be monitored for 24 hours

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 24-hour monitor of a brush fire in the Flagler County area was issued by the Florida Highway Patrol's Jacksonville Regional Communications Center Tuesday.

Although the fire is small in nature, officials will be monitoring the 9-acre section of land near U.S. 1, County Road 304 and State Road 100 between U.S. 1 and Interstate 95.

Message boards have been placed in the area to make motorists aware. Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling in the area.

Due to smoky and foggy conditions, officials are warning motorists that visibility during the night and early morning hours may deteriorate quickly.

In addition, motorists are reminded to reduce their speed and utilize their low beam headlights.
