Flagler Beach police seek help in identifying robber

Suspect wore gorilla mask that resembled gorilla from 'Planets of the Apes'

FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. – Flagler Beach Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect from a robbery that happened Thursday in Flagler Beach.

The suspect approached the victim at the ATM machine, located at the Sun Trust Bank at 323 Moody Blvd. at about 10:40 p.m.

Police described the suspect as a white man, about 6-feet tall with a thin build, wearing khaki pants, a black T-shirt and a mask that resembled a gorilla from Planet of the Apes.

The victim was startled when he saw the subject wearing the mask, causing the victim to punch the suspect on the left side of his head or face.

Police said the victim believes he may have injured the suspect who may now have a black eye or other bruising on the left side of the face.
