FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A Flagler County sheriff's detective has been arrested on a domestic violence charge.

Ronn Rauber, 42, was booked into the Flagler County Detention Facility following an argument with his ex-wife at their Palm Coast home that turned physical Sunday evening, deputies said.

Rauber has been suspended without pay. His bond was set at $2,500 after his first court appearance Monday morning.

Deputies responded to the couple's home about 6 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. They said the argument started after Rauber learned his ex-wife had introduced one of his children to a male friend, according to deputies. The couple is divorced, but live together as a family, deputies said.

Rauber is charged with misdemeanor battery. His ex-wife told deputies he pinned her by her wrists against a wall in their bedroom. Rauber denied the argument turned physical.

"This is a serious problem in our community and no one is immune from their actions during a domestic argument that turns violent," said Undersheriff Rick Staly. "Our agency has a zero tolerance for domestic violence."

Rauber has been with the Sheriff's Office since 1993.
