JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – With the flu spreading rapidly this year, health officials are urging everyone to get a flu shot while they're still available.
Health officials and the Center for Disease Control have been urging everyone to get the flu shot.

For anyone who hasn't already gotten one, they may want to call the pharmacy they're headed to before they go to make sure it's available because some places are having a shortage.
The flu virus is widespread in almost every state in the union and has taken the lives of 20 children.
Because of high demand nationwide, some medical offices and retail locations have had sporadic shortages around the country, but local officials said there appeared to be adequate supplies.
The National Pharmacy released a statement saying, "The current high demand is unprecedented for this time of year. We are making every effort to re-supply our pharmacies and clinics with vaccines as needed."
At Walgreens things aren't much better.
"It's been a little bit insane, to be honest," Walgreens pharmacy manager Stacia Woodcock said. "As soon as the public emergency was declared, it was like the floodgates opened and everyone wanted their flu shot and they were coming in just in hoards looking to get it."
According to some reports, flu is peaking in Florida but could go on for a while, so it's still worth getting a shot.
