Former Winn-Dixie manager arrested in Alabama

Kedrick Chandler, 27, arrested on several warrants

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A man who formerly managed a Winn-Dixie grocery store was arrested Friday in Birmingham, Ala., and taken into custody in connection with the burglaries of two St. Johns County Winn-Dixie stores last summer.

Kedrick Chandler, 27, was named a person of interest in the two burglaries, one in June at a store located in the 3900 block of State Road A1A, the second six days later at the location in the 2200 block of C.R. 210 West.

Chandler allegedly entered each store before closing time, hid in the bathroom, then approached the self-checkout registers and forcefully entered them, removing the currency.

Chandler also had warrants for charges of burglary with battery, possession of burglary tools, burglary of an unoccupied structure and criminal mischief, with bonds totaling $8,500.

Chandler is being held in Alabama on the St. Johns County warrants.
