Girl, 2, hospitalized after being burned in fire

Crews find girl, man inside home on Claro Drive

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Firefighters from nine different units are investigating a fire in Arlington after a 2-year-old girl was burned and taken to the hospital.

The fire happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Claro Drive.

District Chief Mike Stricklend said when fire crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from the home.

Crews said they found a 2-year-old girl and a man inside the home.

The child was taken to UF Health with burns.

The extent of those burns is unknown at this time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
