JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman accused of allowing her granddaughter's abuse at the hands of a sexual predator pleaded guilty Wednesday morning to a charge of child neglect.

Immediately after her plea, 63-year-old Patricia Woloszynowski was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Woloszynowski was arrested in March 2011 after a 9-year-old girl told police she was repeatedly abused by a sex offender, Robert Young (pictured below on right). The abuse happened between August 2010 and March 2011. Evidence showed Woloszynowski knew about the abuse and failed to protect the child.

"This is the final conviction in an overwhelmingly sad case," Assistant State Attorney Alan Mizrahi said in a news release. "Despite suffering unimaginable betrayal, this child is doing amazingly well in her new home. She recently finished second in a school-wide spelling bee and believes that she can conquer anything. I believe she can."

Woloszynowski is one of five people arrested in the case. In October, Christopher Perry, the girl's father, was convicted and sentenced to six life sentences on five counts of sexual battery, one count of lewd or lascivious molestation, one count of conspiracy to commit sexual battery and one count of child neglect. Perry's wife and the girl's mother, Mary Perry, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison on charges of child neglect and conspiracy to commit sexual battery.

Young pleaded guilty to molesting the child. He faces life in prison. Michael Halveland (pictured above on left) pleaded guilty to lewd or lascivious molestation. He, too, faces up to life in prison. Young and Halveland will be sentenced next week.
