Gunman fires at clerk during Palm Coast robbery

Robber demands cash, bottle of Hennessy during hold up

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Flagler County sheriff's detectives say a man who held up a Palm Coast liquor store Monday night fired a shot at the clerk when she ran from the store, but no one was injured.

Deputies say the robber walked into Sharps Liquors on State Road 100 about 9:23 p.m., demanded all the cash from the register and a bottle of Hennessy liquor.

After giving the robber what he wanted, the clerk was ordered to the rear of the store. Instead, she ran out the front door and toward a nearby Subway sandwich shop to get help. The robber followed the clerk and fired one shot in her direction, shattering a window of the Subway.

The Sheriff's Office released surveillance video and images they believe show the robber in the Winn-Dixie in the same shopping plaza. He is described as a black man in his early 30s, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches tall and weighing between 185 and 195 pounds. He was wearing a plaid shirt, dark jeans and a ball cap. The man was last seen fleeing the area on foot across the shopping plaza parking lot towards the SunTrust Bank.
