Jacksonville elects new clerk, School Board members

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Republican Ronnie Fussell won a tight, four-way race to be the next Duval Clerk of Courts, and two newcomers will join the Duval County School Board.

Fussell, who won the Republican primary by default when a judge ruled that term limits disqualified incumbent Clerk Jim Fuller from the race, won the General Election with 48 percent of the votes -- 6,000 ahead of Democratic challenger Brenda Priestly Jackson. NPA candidate John Winkler won 5 percent.
