JSO: Woman at home also arrested

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT team members arrested a wanted man and another woman Saturday afternoon in Northwest Jacksonville.

Police said at 10:01 a.m. they received a call into the JSO Communications Center that a violent wanted suspect was located inside a residence in the 1800 block of W. 33rd Street.

"Police responded to the scene," said spokeswoman Officer Melissa Bujeda. "Contact was made with a female inside the residence. Only the female and small child came out of the residence when requested."

JSO SWAT responded because the wanted suspect refusing to come out of the home, Bujeda said.

Police said at 1:03 p.m. the wanted suspect voluntarily surrendered to police and was arrested.

The woman inside the home was arrested for Resisting an Officer without Violence.

"The female suspect told police nobody else was inside the home even though a small child (who was inside the home at the time) stated the wanted suspect was indeed inside the home," Bujeda said.

The names of the man and woman were not released, as police said it was an on-going investigation.
