16-year-old shot on Pearce Street

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Detectives say a teenager hit by two bullets while walking on Pearce Street on Wednesday afternoon told them the shots were fired from a passing car.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a 16-year-old whose name was not released was taken to UF Health with injuries to his hand and calf.  His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Aggravated battery investigators said the victim said he had no idea who would want to shoot him. Detectives said they had no suspect information other than the car was white.
