JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two of three men accused of kidnapping and sexual-battery charges in the 2009 gang rape of a Jacksonville woman have pleaded guilty. The third man has been ruled not competent for prosecution.
Stanley Armitage was sentenced Friday to 23 years in prison by Circuit Judge Marianne Aho.
Martin King pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in February. Aho sentenced him to seven years.The rape charges were dropped against him.
The third man arrested in the case, Rakeem Mitchner, was ruled not competent after making an outburst at a pretrial hearing.
The victim was riding a bicycle on Goodwin Street in Riverside on Oct. 9, 2009, when she was beaten and attacked. The victim made her way to a Park Street business, where police were called.
