Carjacking victim safe; gunman arrested

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Southside man was carjacked at gunpoint after leaving his Southside apartment Friday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Investigators say the gunman ordered the driver to take him to the La Quinta Inn off Lenoir Avenue. There, the gunman got out of the car and walked over to man in another car in the parking lot.  The didn't stick around to see what happened next.

The driver later identified his kidnapper to police and the man was arrested on charges of armed carjacking and kidnapping.  His name wasn't released.
