JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a pickup truck on Atlantic Boulevard near Kingman Avenue Thursday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
The accident, which was reported about 10 p.m., blocked all eastbound lanes of Atlantic Boulevard for several hours.

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His identity has not yet been released.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck is cooperating with investigators, JSO Lt. Mark Dorner said.
Just minutes before the accident, police said they had received several reports of a man walking on southbound Interstate 95.
The Sheriff's Office traffic homicide unit continues to investigate.
