According to firefighters on the scene, university police discovered smoke coming from the building and called the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department.

When firefighters arrived, they said they discovered that three golf carts that were being charged inside the building had caught fire. Crews then fanned out the smoke inside the building.

The fire did not appear to be suspicious, just an electrical fire caused accidentally, according to Fire Rescue.

There was no other damage to the building or to the other maintenance vehicles that are housed inside the building, Fire Rescue said.
