Empty CSX car derails

No injuries, leaks, spills reported

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Representatives from CSX said one of its empty cars derailed Saturday afternoon at McQuade Street and Broadway Avenue.

The derailment happened in a rail yard at 2 p.m., CSX representatives said.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and CSX representatives are at the scene. There were no leaks or spills, and no injuries were reported.

The train was traveling from Waycross to Jacksonville with 117 loaded cars of mixed freight and 74 empty cars.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
