JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville man charged with hacking celebrity email accounts plans to plead guilty.
The Hollywood Hacker made national headlines. Many may recall, he was accused of stealing information from stars like Christina Aguilera and Scarlett Johansson.
Now, this case is one step closer to being closed.
According to a plea deal filed Thursday in Los Angeles Federal Court, 35-year-old Christopher Chaney will plead guilty to nine counts, including wiretapping and unauthorized access to a computer.
Prosecutors said there were more than 50 victims, many who were very embarrassed when nude photos of them wound up posted on the Internet.
Chaney was arrested as part of a year-long investigation into celebrity hacking, the investigation dubbed "Operation Hackerazzi."
Chaney intends to plead guilty, but he still could face up to 60 years in prison.
