Jacksonville man indicted on child porn charges

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A federal grand jury has indicted John Carver Lester, 61, of Jacksonville, with three counts of receiving child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.

United States Attorney Robert E. O'Neill said Lester was arrested Dec. 20 at his home and and remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. He was scheduled to be arraigned at 10 a.m. Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge James R. Klindt in Jacksonville.

If convicted, Lester faces a mandatory minimum of 5 years, and up to 20 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine on each of the receipt counts, up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine on the possession charge.
