Police: Woman, 3 kids unhurt after bullets also hit unit's door

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two men were injured in a drive-by shooting Monday night in the Arlington Manor neighborhood, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Officer responded just before 10 p.m. to a shooting into a residence at University Townhomes on Justina Road.

Police said four bullets hit a woman's door, but did not pierce the metal door. The woman was home with three children, but no injuries were reported at the complex, according to the police report. 

While police were investigating at University Townhomes, an off-duty officer at Memorial Hospital reported that two men with gunshot wounds had drove themselves to the hospital. 

Both of the men suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to be OK, police said. 

The victims told police that they were both shot at University Townhomes, and saw a dark-colored sedan with two people drive off after the shooting. 

According to the JSO crime-mapping tool, there have been two burglaries and three assaults reported in the last month with a quarter-mile of Monday evening's shooting.
