JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - JEA's website, JEA.com, was down Wednesday afternoon.
A spokeswoman said steps were being taken to restore the system.
Officials said it was the result of a computer hardware issue, and no customer information was at risk.
It does not affect JEA's electricity, water or sewer services.
Payments made through JEA's automatic phone system, Winn-Dixie, the Tax Collector, JEA's downtown office and third-party locations are all being processed.
JEA requests for stop/start orders and reconnect orders are still being processed.
