A patrol officer noticed a stolen car leaving the complex and tried to pull the driver over, but the driver accelerated and turned around to go back into the complex, according to the arrest report.

The driver then bailed out of the car and tossed a gun, leaving a child in the passenger seat while the car kept going and crashed into the officer’s patrol vehicle, police said.

The officer chased Strive to a stairwell, police said, and eventually deployed his stun gun twice after Strive didn’t comply with verbal commands.

In addition, police said that they found crack cocaine and powder cocaine in the car that Strive was driving.

Strive was booked into the Duval County Jail.
