JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 30-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for shooting at a gas station clerk in Jacksonville, the State Attorney's Office announced Wednesday.
Maurice Eugene Sanders was convicted last month of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Sanders was at a gas station on Soutel Drive in June 2014 when he became angry with the store clerk and vandalized the store.
When the clerk followed him outside, Sanders pulled out a gun and fired one shot at him. The clerk was not struck.
Sanders then got into a car and left the scene.
Sanders was sentenced as a habitual felony offender.
