JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown announced his support for a daytime homeless shelter.
In a news release, the city announced public-private partnerships to help the thousands of homeless people living in Jacksonville.

The daytime center, which will begin as a 12-month pilot program, will provide services to help the homeless find employment and shelter. It would also provide temporary housing from bad weather.
Also on Monday, Brown participated in a community roundtable to discuss solutions to the homelessness in Jacksonville.
