Police say man stabbed, beat 38-year-old woman to death

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The state attorney's office has added more charges against the man accused of killing the wife of a Jacksonville firefighter.

Lance Kirkpatrick, 31, is now charged with armed robbery and sexual battery. Kirkpatrick is accused of stabbing and beating 38-year-old Kim Dorsey to death.

Dorsey (pictured, below) was found dead in her Southside home Oct 28.

Kirkpatrick, who used to live with Dorsey and her husband, was arrested days later.

Investigators said he went back to the home to pick up some of his belongings, and an altercation ensued, leading to Dorsey's death.

Kirkpatrick is being held in the Duval County jail without bail. He has entered a not guilty plea. At a hearing Thursday, his case was passed until Jan. 7.
