Police said the wound was not life-threatening. The man was transported to a hospital by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

Officials say after speaking with people at the scene, they believe there was a dispute that led to the shooting, but the reason for the argument is unknown.

It's also not yet known if there was a prior relationship between the victim and shooter.

A sergeant at the scene was asked why the victim did not call for rescue himself, and he said it was likely because his injuries impeded him from doing so.

No one is currently in custody, and detectives are continuing to investigate.
