Police: Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by pickup

Man taken to hospital after Normandy crash, JSO says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a pickup truck in the city's Normandy area Wednesday night, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said. 

The crash was reported just before 6 p.m. at Ramona Boulevard and Lane Avenue South.

The pedestrian was taken to UF Health with life-threatening injuries. He was undergoing surgery at last check, police said.

The driver of the pickup stayed on scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to the Sheriff's Office.
