Officers said they were called just before 4:30 p.m. to the parking lot of the Walmart on City Square Drive, where they found a child who was sweating inside a van.

Police said the van was not running, the windows were up and the doors were locked, but firefighters were able to get a door off the van without breaking any windows.

According to the arrest report, the child was hot and sweating, but firefighters said he was OK.

Investigators said Walmart surveillance video showed that McComas had left the child alone for 25 minutes while she was inside the store.

McComas was booked into the Duval County Jail, but was released Wednesday afternoon.
